ROAD GRADES

ROAD GRADES

(OP)
CAN A CONSTRUCTION TRUCK STILL DRIVE IN A GRADE OF 20% WITH LENGTH OF 500m?

RE: ROAD GRADES

depends
what kind of truck
what kind of load
what kind of pavement
you will need specific data on the truck

RE: ROAD GRADES

Also is it going uphill or downhill?

does it start and stop?

Most crawler gears will do this, but it's not the only issue.

"Construction truck" is remarkably vague.

PS please don't write in capitals, it's interpreted as SHOUTING and it's not allowed.

Remember - More details = better answers
Also: If you get a response it's polite to respond to it.

RE: ROAD GRADES

Answer: No. Reason: Rain.

On a recent project, we had a temporary access road constructed at a 10% grade, it was capped with aggregate. Loaded semi's were unable to make it up the slope in wet conditions. It was an expensive mess to get the 2 trucks that got stuck unstuck....

20% is way to steep for material delivery-type trucks. Add water and it only gets worse.....
