load combinations

(OP)
I have a problem with a beam having both uniform and concentrated load applied. How do I apply the load combinations? should I distribute the concentrated loads and make them uniform?

RE: load combinations

Your proper question is not load combinations, but load DISTRIBUTION. You analyze the beam with the uniform loads and the point load applied per the typical beam analysis formulas. If you do not know and understand these already, then search the internet for beam loading formulas. Apply each type of load independently, and add the effects algebraically. This is called superposition.

RE: load combinations

Load combinations refers to how dead, live, wind and seismic loads should be combined, realizing that they are not all likely to occur simultaneously. The appropriate design code specifies how they should be combined.

A beam having uniform, variable and concentrated loads acting together should be analyzed as is, considering the appropriate load combinations for each load type. It is not necessary to distribute concentrated loads, but it can be done to simplify the problem of analysis.
