Sheet Metal Tool ID Selection

Sheet Metal Tool ID Selection

Quick question for NX Sheet Metal users...

Does anyone use the Tool ID Selection option in Sheet Metal Preferences-->Part Properties-->Parameter Entry? I'm not looking for alternative solutions, just interested if it is functionality that is actually used.

If you do, how do you factor for using the same tool with different material grades/types/thicknesses?

Thanks.

Bump... Nobody? Interesting.

RE: Sheet Metal Tool ID Selection

I don't use it at all due to it's sizable shortcomings. I know someone who has developed a comprehensive SQL based system which takes into account material type, thickness and then presents suitable tooling combinations and bend radius input automatically based on that fabricators standards/tooling inventory. We are in the process of developing the same.

Ryan
