Parasolid export / body names

Parasolid export / body names

Parasolid export / body names

(OP)
When exporting an assembly from NX8.5 to parasolid, the body names are in the exported parasolid file.
The NX10 does not export name from the same assembly. Is it a feature or a bug?
Thanks in advance

RE: Parasolid export / body names

Does the problem repeat itself if another Parasolid version is chosen?

NX9 exports well to all parasolid version, NX10 do not export names at all..no matter what version is chosen.

RE: Parasolid export / body names

Can confirm, exported named bodies as parasolid from NX 10.0.3.5 MP6, body names are kept when importing back to NX 10, but are lost when importing the NX10 file in NX 9.0.3.4 MP13 and NX 8.5.

I think it is time to report this issue to GTAC. There is already a similar PR (7582478) for NX10 regarding face names not being kept, but the solution does not bode well "Siemens PLM believes that the problem you reported where NX10 doesn't export face names with Parasolid format anymore will be resolved by documentation changes made to the release of our product NX11."

Problem solved, our local support gave us the solution:
NX 10.0.3 MP2+
and
UGII_EXPORT_TYSA_NAME_ATTRIBUTE = 1
fixes the issue.
There was some change because of the unicode characters in the names.
