4063 Laser gas or PSU alarm
4063 Laser gas or PSU alarm
(OP)
Hi friends,
I have AMADA FO3015NT Laser machine,
i found in last week : 4063 Laser gas or PSU alarm so i contact AMADA and the send fanuc Engineer they give me this report.
Date: 21.06.16
Visited for 4063 Laser gas or PSU alarm. Customer observed fire from PSU-1 at time of high volt ready.
Visited and cold check PSU-1. Found not ok during cold check. Check matching Box-1 and found burn mark
on main bus bar.
PSU-3 already swapped to PSU-1 by AMADA. Today fitted matching Box-4 to 1 and taken trial. Found DCI3 LED
on during SEQ26.
Confirm problem with PSU-1, PSU-3 and Matching Box-1. Problem is occurred after heavy power fluctuation
and customer bypassed UPS.
Request customer to check power condition and earthing. Right now 3-phase power check and found 220VAC
balance.
Date: 28.06.16
Today visited and fitted new PSU and matching box at PSU-1 MB-1. Done base discharge and rated
power PSU tuning.
Fitted new PSU at PSU-3, taken trial and found during base discharge adjustment DCI3 found glow.
Checked MB-3 and found 1 coil is become black from bottom. Customer’s MB1 all coils are ok only
arc found at bus bar. Replaced bus bar from MB3 to MB1 and fitted MB1 at MB-3 place.
Taken trial and found at PSU-3 base discharge adjustment found completed. During rated power
adjustment fund DCi1 and DCi2 LED glow together. Also MCB for PSU-3 found tripped.
Checked PSU-3 and found sort at input 3-phase terminal. Confirm that Fanuc PSU which is fitted to
machine is found faulty now.
We will arrange one more set of matching box and PSU and visit again. Right now bypassed PSU3
hand over machine for production.
Finally i want to know that if DCI 3 LED found in any PSU that means its foulty???.
We should replace it??
It can damage Match box??

RE: 4063 Laser gas or PSU alarm
To answer your question, DCI3 on the power supply can mean a few different things. I am not really sure what the causes are, laser gas leaks, laser gas contamination, are a few. When I am in this situation, I do exactly what is in the report, check the internal workings of the power supply, make sure nothing is burned up, and then swap the components to see if its the power supply that is causing the alarm or something else.
If the DCI3 alarm moves with the power supply, when its moved from position 3 to position 1, and there is nothing visibly wrong with the diodes or FET boards in the power supply, there isn't anything more that can be done in the field.
If there is a dead short on the three phase input to the power supply, it is a bad sign. It has been my experience that the input diode has been damaged and its very difficult to replace and get the parts.
One more thing, I am not entirely certain, but I believe a matching box can damage a power supply but I do not think I have seen a power supply damage a matching box.
Last, in this area, I have had an excellent experience with FANUC. They have always done their best to repair the power supplies in the field. They have a great support network. If your service person had run into difficulties there are people in that company willing to help. Repairing you machine is going to be very expencive, but I am quite sure they will do only what is necessary and do their best to keep costs down.
