Estimating Fire Sprinkler Water Demand

Estimating Fire Sprinkler Water Demand

Estimating Fire Sprinkler Water Demand

(OP)
I am hoping that someone might recall an excellent article by Ken Isman (of NFSA), I believe (not 100% sure), regarding estimating sprinkler demand by hand. It is very useful in the beginning of a project to estimate the sprinkler demand in order to determine if a fire pump may be required. I have looked online, but cannot find it. I recall it was written in "Sprinkler Age" or "Sprinkler Quarterly". It was a great article and I thought I would post it here to see if anyone else has come across this.
Thanks.

RE: Estimating Fire Sprinkler Water Demand

As a start, you may want to read articles by Harry E Hickley,PhD. One free article is volume1 and basically starting on chapter 4 you'll get some answers to your questions. Here is the link: www.usfa.fema.gov/downloads/pdf/publications/... " Water Supply Systems and Evaluation Methods"
