Distributed follower force tangential to a beam?

Distributed follower force tangential to a beam?

Distributed follower force tangential to a beam?

(OP)
Hi everybody,

I am trying to model a cantilever beam using wire. All I want is a distributed tangential load along the beam that is following the rotation of local elements (defined using local coordinate system).

I searched Abaqus documentation and tried myself, but I found that a distributed line load on a beam element defined under "LOCAL CSYS" only has "component 1" and "component 2", which I believe, if I am understanding it correctly, are normal to the beam. I wonder how I can define line load that is tangential to the beam using "LOCAL CSYS".

I am currently using 50 concentrated follower force to represent the distributed line load.

Thanks
