Do the heater transfer lines in a delayed coker unit need cleaning provision to remove coke?

(OP)
Hello,

I am working on a delayed coker unit.

There are 4 coke drums and 2 heaters. Each heater has six 6" passes (total twelve 6" passes). Two 6" passes combine to form one 10" cell (total six 10" cells). Three 10" cells combine to form one 16" line to the coke drum switch valve.

I have attached a picture for your reference. I have shown the lines from one heater. Second heater's lines have the same arrangement.

The 10" and 16" lines have cleaning arrangements at change in directions to remove the deposited coke.

Do I have to provide cleaning arrangements in the 6" lines also?

The heater effluent flows in these lines at 480 degree celcius.

Thanks,
L. Hariharan.
