bolt head marking

(OP)
Hi

I have a precision steel bolt M10 x 1.25 and it has a raised letter q on the head. I'm fairly sure this is Japanese. Can anyone tell me if this relates to the material strength or is it something else?

Thanks in advance

allan

RE: bolt head marking

Just a raised letter Q, or are their other markings? (dots, lines, any other shapes or letters)

RE: bolt head marking

There used to be a database of bolt IDs.
Though I have been searching and haven't found it.
I hope someone with a better memory than mine comes along.

I had thought that it was part of a DoD report on bogus fasteners...
