I am searching a CAD tool for my company. I'm pounding 3d experience in cloud . But I'm afraid of price. Is it much more expensive than V5 for example?

RE: 3d experience

Hello,
humm... WHAT is more expensive than V5 to you?
If you choose Solidworks, it will be less expensive than Catia, that's for sure

RE: 3d experience

for CATIA price you'll have to contact Dassault. 3DX is not only CATIA but also ENOVIA (PLM).

@TiagoFigueiredo
CAD tool choice will depend on the nature of the work - what industry are you in and what products will you be designing in CAD?

Onshape is the cheapest :)

RE: 3d experience

Can anyone give me an end user (CAD designer) view of 3D experience? It looks like a set of modules or packages of tools. is there anything fundamentally different (better) VS regular Catia? Or is it basically marketing waffle?

After these all weeks, I am almost decided what I will do.

Most of my clients still use CATIA V5, but I saw some of capabilities of 3D Experience as whole, and it's really impressive. It's much more than a cad tool. There is a lot for project managment, wich is awsome, and it's impressive working in a cooperative work. I had loved the way that the files are stored. After this, i had the will to upgrade to 3D experience. But my CATIA supplier told me to wait some more 2 ou 3 years. First let mature the product, second because there is a lot of OEM still working with V5. Another surppise was the price of it, depending on configuration, can cost less than V5.

But what i'm pounding to do.

I was also looking for a PLM to manage all my cad files. So my supplier come to me with a solution, Working in CATIA V5, and use 3d Experience as PLM. But this 3d Experience, doesn't bring CAD, so i need to buy V5 and license of 3d experience PLM.

RE: 3d experience

Hi,

It just was 3DEXPERIENCE forum in Romania...and I saw a lot of new thinks....

Depend which are your customers and what they are asking from you...don't hurry, get more info about the platform, not only from your VAR, maybe they don't know so much or they don't know how to implement.... is really impressive what can be done inside platform, for sure this is the future.

You can ask questions also here, I'm pretty sure there are peoples who can answer you or you can ask inside swym community - Dassault Systèmes

Fernando
