Cable connectors : can I grind them?

Cable connectors : can I grind them?

Cable connectors : can I grind them?

(OP)
Hi

I have a number of feedthrough connectors TCF125-128AL for mono DLO 535 cable. The diameter of one end is too small. It's cause of varying OD diameter of the cable manufacturers. Southwire would have fit but not Carol.

My men proposed to grind the opening end for 3/32 inch width.

I was wondering what are the consequence of altering the connectors this way. Is the width of the aluminium important?

RE: Cable connectors : can I grind them?

If you alter a component, I'm pretty sure it loses its CSA listing. Is that acceptable to you or the AHJ?

RE: Cable connectors : can I grind them?

Why not use the proper connector?
Try TCF150-140AL
