RE: Valve in B31.3 Piping
I suppose it officially becomes an unlisted component, but if there are lots about and it is made to a recognized standard or code then it should be perfectly acceptable
Remember - More details = better answers
Also: If you get a response it's polite to respond to it.
RE: Valve in B31.3 Piping
Could you please share a little more information on why you are asking this question?
Example:
Why are you (Structural) asking this Piping question?
What is the project/situation that relates to this question?
More?
Sometimes its possible to do all the right things and still get bad results
RE: Valve in B31.3 Piping
Per ASME B31.3 307.1.1, valves that meet a listed standard (such as B16.34, but not limited to B16.34; as listed in Table 326.1) are acceptable provided they also meet the 307.2 requirements. Additionally, per 307.1.2, valves that do not meet a listed standard may be used in accordance with 302.2.3 (and presumably 307.2). See B31.3 Sections 307, 302.2.3, Table 326.1, and Appendix E.
