i have a question, is it required to put sprinklers below the roof? the situation will be an existing warehouse will be converted to an office building. there is a space [highlight #204A87]between the roof and the ceiling (just like an attic). thanks,

RE: Space between the roof and the ceiling

What is the roof construction, if combustible i.e. Wood, yes, if not, no unless insulation or other material is combustible.

the roof construction will be GI sheet. is has insulation i think its not combustible. but the space have access and the FCU will be place in that space. will this affect the protection of the building? and please help me site and code that describe my situation i been reading 8.15.1 Concealed Spaces. thanks again.

RE: Space between the roof and the ceiling

Once all finished, if you stand in the warehouse area

Will you be able to see the area between the office and roof deck?

Or is there a wall to block it ?

RE: Space between the roof and the ceiling

NFPA 13, Chapter 8.

Also, if you "think" its not combustible, then it is, and sprinkler will be required.
In other words, substantiate.

FCU may or may not affect. Again, Chapter 8
