Obtain moments from shell element

Obtain moments from shell element

(OP)
Hi guys

I try to extract bending moments (M11, M22 and M12) from the shell element from ANSYS workbench. I able to obtain deformations and stresses, but not plate moments. I must have missing something in the ANSYS workbench. Can anyone shed some light on how to get the plate moments.

Thanks
gyung

RE: Obtain moments from shell element

Bending stress in a plate is s=6M/t^2. You could make a user defined result M=sqrt(sx^2+sy^2)*t^2/6 where sx and sy are normal stresses in the plane of the shell at the surface.
