force output in tensile test

force output in tensile test

(OP)
Hello everybody

Ihave a question please if i use a tensile test in abaqus and i could like to represent The force Vs displacement how can i do that i mean if i choose one node in the middle i alwyas have Force = 0 ???? can anyone help me please?

Thanks a lot

RE: force output in tensile test

You can only extract a reaction force at a node where you have applied a displacement/velocity/constraint.

i can not hab=ve a reaction force it is always equal to zero ???? another question in the input file i see this :
Node Output
RF, U
*Element Output, directions=YES
E, MISES, S
**
** HISTORY OUTPUT: H-Output-1

does it mean that i can not have S in a node but it must be an element?

RE: force output in tensile test

You will only obtain a reaction force in nodes where you have a applied a displacement/constraint. If your tensile test is displacement-controlled you need to sum the reaction forces at the nodes where you have specified a displacement/constraint to get the force values for your force-displacement curve.

Stress and strain are calculated at the element integration points and can be extrapolated to the surrounding nodes where they are then averaged by default. So you can access element stresses/strains (most accurate) and node stresses/strains (extrapolated and averaged) in your odb file.

Can you please ex pain more watts must i do if il want to obtain streSS and qtrain in on node

If i used coupling constraint in abaqus between a Reference point and the cell where i will aplly the tensile test. AND In the result is it true if i extract results in this node??? i mean it is not necessary in this case to do the mean betwenn the different nodes???
