Adding component to assembly random component files switched to miscellaneous condition automatic.
(OP)
Hello,
I have an issue with NX9.0.2.5 where after adding a component to an assembly after reopen changes automatically to a miscellaneous condition.
After finding the icon that it changes into it is described as a component that is a reference component for drafting only, and is not designed to participate in standard assembly operations.
This happens randomly and not for all users.
This happens in the top assembly but if I open the assembly living in the top assembly it will load fine. Afterward if I open the top assembly it will load fine. Only happens when I open top level first before opening any other lower assemblies. The computer next to me will open the top level and everything will load fine, but the another computer down from that one will open it and find the same condition.
If I had to guess from what we have seen is it is related to replace component from top level assembly while having the lower level assembly as workpart. This is just a theory, I have not been able to recreate issue consistently.
Thank You

Can you illustrate with a few images what it is you see ?
Do you run Teamcenter ?

RE: Adding component to assembly random component files switched to miscellaneous condition automatic.
I highlighted the icon in question.
This component was originally added to assembly with the replace component function (not intended to be a drafting component). After saving and reopening, it becomes a drafting component.
Not using teamcenter, we read/write from a local server.
