Noise Reduction in ZW 275 Transformer

Noise Reduction in ZW 275 Transformer

(OP)
Is there any way to reduce the audible noise from a Lionel ZW 275 toy train power transformer?

RE: Noise Reduction in ZW 275 Transformer

Suggestion: Generally, it may become impossible to reduce a noise of the transfomer of certain origins, e.g. manufacturing tolerances, or nature of the load.
It may be easier to solve the noise source over the acoustic insulation.

Long shot — Sponge rubber may isolate the transformer from coupling to its resting surface.

There may be {loose} screws sandwiching laminations.  [These fixed my trusty ZW274.]
