Sizing liquid valve API520

Sizing liquid valve API520

Sizing liquid valve API520

(OP)
Hi everyone, i'll learn how to size a liquid valve according to API 520. After reading this standard i understand how to determinate the orifice size (using a preliminary Kd of 0,65), but at this point i can't understand which of my valves should i use. For example:

Table orifice size
E = 0,196 in^2
F = 0,307 in^2
G = 0,503 in^2

Using formulas of the API520 i find out that the right orifice is for example a F orifice. I've for example two valve:
A_valve with a geometric discharge area of 0,200 in^2
B_valve with a geometric discharge area of 0,450 in^2

Which one should i use? After deciding what valve is the right one, should i repeat the calculation of "Required effective area" using valve's discharge area (0,200 in^2 or 0,450 in^2) and effective Kd of the valve (coefficent of discharge)? Should i verify again that the "Required effective area" of the valve selected is less than the F orifice (for this example)?

Thank you very much for your help
