Problem in Creating a split point on Catia v5

Problem in Creating a split point on Catia v5

(OP)
Hello everyone,

I'm currently designing a drill bit on Catia v5, but I don't manage to complete the last step I want to do, which is creating the split point (135°, 4 facets). For the angle it is okay, but I don't manage to create the 4 facets. I'd like to do something like that:

And for now I've only got that:

But I don't find a way to create the split point. I tried some things such as creating a new sketch in a perpendicular plan (to the tip surface), but nothing worked. I tried to generate a revolution but wasn't working, either it pass through the drill bit, or it goes over the edges randomly.

Does someone have an idea? A tip?
Thanks for your help, I hope someone will be able to help me.

Loïc

As i can see from Catia screen it's not looking like something angular. Start from analysis of a drill.

Thanks for your answer.

By angular what do you mean? Which angle are you talking about?

Thanks very much

Finally, with tenacity I've been successful. Admins, you can close the thread.

Ok I did not check any value for real drill bit, and I simplified the main section but you can apply this to your construction:

Create a line from drill bit tip to a location on the edge (I use extremum point):

Create a Sweep Surface using the line as Guide Curve and the conical surface as Reference:

extrapole in 3 direction (not the edge from the line):

Symmetry twice (or rotate 180deg) and join (uncheck Check Connexity):

Trim with the drill bit surface:

You better check real drill bit geometry but I am confident something like that could help you.

Thanks you for your method, it is different from mine but seems to give a good result as well ;)
