RE: chip formation distortion

Hi eengali
You give Too little information of your model...
By the way can you Ask below questions?
1) Did you define Damage and Damage Evolution for your model in Property Module ?
2) Did you Activate STATUS in Predefined Field Output in Step Module ?
3) What is you Boundary Conditions ?
4) Can you write your Warning and Status Files, In Job Module ?
With Best Regards.
yassou.

RE: chip formation distortion

Hi,
It could be a matter of how you display your output (I assume now that you did yassou's suggested point #1).

Check out this in the manual:
42.5.2 Using the field output toolbar
42.5.6 Selecting the status field output variable

"Choose from the filtering methods in the Remove elements field to specify the failure criteria. If any result value of an element meets the specified criteria, that element is considered failed and it is removed from model plots. Element output quantities are compared against the specified criteria; there is no extrapolation or averaging performed on the element data. If a nodal quantity is selected and a value for a given node meets the specified criteria, all elements connected to the failed node are removed."

Hope it helps!
