Austenitic SS bolting for manway during hydrotest

Austenitic SS bolting for manway during hydrotest

(OP)
Dear all,
We have a client's spec asking "austenitic service bolts shall be supplied new and unused. These bolts shall not be used during the pressure testing of the vessel".
The question is, shall the service bolts, even they are stainless steel, be mandatorily tested together with vessel, and then ship the tested bolts to end user instead of furnishing another new, untested bolting ?
Second question, if the bolting is not hydrotested, can the code stamp and NBR be obtained ?

The bolts I am talking about is for the manway.

RE: Austenitic SS bolting for manway during hydrotest

This sounds like a question that you ought to be asking your client. They probably have good reason to put that in their specification.
