Hydro test of fire fighting lines.
Hydro test of fire fighting lines.
(OP)
According to NFPA14, the sprinkler system should be pressure tested at 13.8 bars for 2hours. But the sprinklers used in most fire fighting systems are rated at 12bar. will the sprinklers be affected if the system is tested at 13.8bars? whats is the right way to do the pressure tests.

RE: Hydro test of fire fighting lines.
NFPA 13 is for fire sprinklers
They are factory tested to 500 psi
AS far as testing does not matter says the same thing::
11.4.1* General. All new systems, including yard piping and fire department connection piping, shall be tested hydrostatically at not less than 200 psi (13.8 bar) or 50 psi (3.5 bar) in excess of the system working pressure, whichever is greater for 2 hours.
25.2.1.1 Unless permitted by 25.2.1.2 through 25.2.1.5, all piping and attached appurtenances subjected to system working pressure shall be hydrostatically tested at 200 psi (13.8 bar) and shall maintain that pressure without loss for 2 hours.
25.2.1.2 Portions of systems normally subjected to system working pressures in excess of 150 psi (10.3 bar) shall be tested as described in 25.2.1.1, at a pressure of 50 psi (3.4 bar) in excess of system working pressure.

With normal max working pressure of 175
