Dry stand pipe

Dry stand pipe

Dry stand pipe

Please help!!!!
1.Location of Siamese base on the NFPA?
2.Is it ok if the dry standpipe is only one for 12th floor building?

RE: Dry stand pipe

The governing building code will dictate where to locate your standpipes. If the building is small enough in footprint and only has one stair, then you could get away with one. But, the building code will dictate.

As stated, FDC shall be accessible to the FD. You also want it located within a certain distance from the nearest hydrant. That could be 150-300' depending on jurisdiction requirements.

RE: Dry stand pipe

(OP)
thank you very much sir travis mack for your response...The building has two fire scape and the floor area is 1368 sq.m,what was the building code stated the maximum floor area allowed to install one dry standpipe is enough?.

the old design was stated below:
1. on ground floor has AFSS inlet, dry stand pipe inlet, and testing for fire department inlet.
2. on roof deck has siamese twin output.
My question is what is the standard on the NFPA?

RE: Dry stand pipe

I know this is typically spelled out in the building code, not NFPA, but I did not think you could (or should) have a dry standpipe in a 12 story building.
