(OP)
there are some additional function in mechanical desktop power package. like FEA and Power part insertion...does anybody use the FEA and can u tell your feel about this function?

RE: anybody use Mechanical Desktop FEA ?

Not very good at all.
Purchase a regular package like Nastran or Cosmos.
You will just pull your hair out trying to use the Autocad FEA.

RE: anybody use Mechanical Desktop FEA ?

Is there any literature on the FEA package built into Power Pack?  It has been nice to use it from time to time, but the assigning of loads and supports is not very intuitive and the help files are almost non-existant.

Thanks

RE: anybody use Mechanical Desktop FEA ?

No, the help stuff is terrible or non-existant.
Good Luck

RE: anybody use Mechanical Desktop FEA ?

I played with the FEA for an hour or two. I finaly got it to at least run a problem. There was no real help to be found. It quit or crashed and burst into flames. This option is a toy which is not worth the money! AutoDesk should be spending money improving their product not making it worse. I would rather see them spend money on making Desktop more compatable with Inventor (translator.
If you want FEA buy a separate package.
