API 6A Block Fittings

API 6A Block Fittings

API 6A Block Fittings

(OP)
Is there a particular API spec that specifies 15,000 psi block fitting dimensions? Say a block 90 or tee?

I cannot find any standard dimensions in API 6A and am under the assumption that these can only be rated after analysis and testing. Is this correct?

Are there any "published" sizes for high pressure block fittings? Thanks!

RE: API 6A Block Fittings

API 6A Tables B.87 and B.88 specify dimensions for flanged and studded tees and crosses. If you follow the API 6A requirements for dimensions, materials, quality control, etc., then no additional analysis or design validation testing is required (see API Advisory 6 for API licensees), although production hydro-testing is still required.
