Welding Experts,

Could you please clarify my doubt regarding WQT. Our production requirement is to weld split tee 24" 15.875 thickness longitudinal joint in horizontal position, and with backing strip. We require 4 welders . my test piece is 18 " 19.05 thickness. whether i can qualify two welders in one test piece. ie. first welder will weld half of thickness and balance by other. which section of section ix says like that. I understand if any rejectable indication shows on the rt film, both welder will be rejected. Orelse whether I can weld half of the weld circumfrnce with one welder and balance with other.if so section of section ix. what are the possible options

RE: wqt

The welding standard you are using would go a long way in providing you with the information you need and it would help us as well.

Best regards - Al
