Chilled water piping support
Chilled water piping support
(OP)
HI,
I have chilled water piping , Water supply piping on roof top , and to be economical i am using a steel I beam and L shape -MS steel angle which will be used for the piping support and supported by to stands on each end . Either i can go back to basics and start calculating the I beam and L beam moment of inertia's and stresses for each support and choice ,
i have many different pipe sizses on roof top , i can calculate the span easily , and the load for the pipe per m ( filled with water ) is also known , i am looking for a easy was to select the rite size for the supports .
please help me out
For better under standing please review the attachment .

Thank ,

Have you tried Google? Try "Roof pipe support manufacturer"
It looks like you are trying to re-invent the wheel.
If you are unsure about a manufacturer's support, call them, they will give you load ratings or any other information you might want. They've done all the engineering already, no need for you repeat their work.
Plus, since they produce the supports in mass quantities, it will be much cheaper than getting a contractor to custom make the supports. And save you a lot of time.
