Jobs

Abaqus ends job after several minutes perhaps because of Step with "gravity load"

Abaqus ends job after several minutes perhaps because of Step with "gravity load"

(OP)
Hello there,

I have a huge problem with computing a step with a "gravity load". At least, this seems to be the problem. I do the computations via a compute cluster at the university. And after several minutes I get the message "Job done".

Usually, I do my computations without a gravity load at all, but now I have to consider the selfweight because I need to simulate real experiments and compare them with my FE-Results. When I create the jobs without a gravity step, everything goes as it should. The Jobs compute several hours up to one day and I get usable results. As soon as I put the gravity load in, they stop early. Everything's like Abaqus "thinks", that the job really is finished.

I don't know what's wrong with my input files. Data check is ok, .odb-file doesn't show any important warnings....

It would be super nice, if someone could check my input file for any mistakes that I didn't recognize so far...

Thanks a lot for your help!

Why don't you check the results in the odb file to see if the structure behaves as you'd expect under self weight. Perhaps the real problem is that the other jobs are taking several hours to run.

Well, I did it. And usually it takes between 1000-3000 increments for the reinforced concrete beam Model, of that size, to fail, which will of course take several hours. This same model should take at least the same amount of tíme, if not more, if I add gravity load to it. There is no way, that a job finishs after only 10 minutes. The .odb file shows 0 increments and the beam has no tension damage at all.

I don't know if my input file was attached? I can't see it, but I certainly did attach it.
