Rotating mesh in CFD interface

Rotating mesh in CFD interface

Rotating mesh in CFD interface

(OP)
Hello,

I am trying to rotate the wind turbine by wind force so I used air properties as inlet in CFD but when in coexecution with CFD and elastic body, the blade rotates to around 15 degrees and it shows error. Later I learned I have to create boundary wall in CFD for allowing rotation for mesh but when I choose displacement/rotation option for the casing that surrounds the blade to rotate all I see is only displacement options u1,U2,U3 and there is no R1,R2,R3 .. so how can I rotate the mesh? and how can I match the rotation velocity due to wind force instead of applying angular velocity in Explicit.. I like to rotate it with windforce without applying angular velocity in abaqus/explicit.

So I need to rotate the mesh in CFD which also matches the rotational velocity of blade in Explicit which is due to inlet velocity from CFD. Please help me with this.

RE: Rotating mesh in CFD interface

Hello,

I am also dealing with a similar issue in abaqus. I am doing a FSI Co-simulation. The CFD model boundary wall condition must be issue. I was also trying to match the rotational speed of the Explicit model. The CFD model also rotates, but with the wrong boundary conditions. Hence my results does not make sense. Have you sorted out how to solve this issue ? In that case I request you to share the information here. Thank you

Regards
Nidhesh
