Hello,

I've designed steel frame structure (industrial building) that supoports crane with 10t capacity, fixed end columns with roof truss. Now i've forwarded my design with support reactions to a partner who decided on foundation system of SOG with haunched edge. Does anyone have more experience with it? Transfer of 100kNm moment in supports is what i'm worried about...

It can be done--I recently designed the foundations for a building with a crane using a 10" thick slab with 4'-0" deep "haunched" edges. I ran the "mat" on RISA-3D, but as one might expect, most of the resistance to the loads remained concentrated in the 4'-0" deep edges. So it really did not behave much like a mat.

I too get similar results when modelling in robot. Minimum reinforcement requirement is almost always relevant, but it looks to me if something is missing in all this story...
