A question....Transformer ratio ( sqrt (3)/2 ) problem.
(OP)
Hello friends,
I have a question...Omicron cpc100 manual says that if you want to test of transformer ratio , you should use following calculationames.
Ratio = ( Vpri / Vsec ) * sqrt (3)/2
But I couldn't understand "sqrt (3)/2" where comes from ?

RE: A question....Transformer ratio ( sqrt (3)/2 ) problem.
To keep it simple consider a Delta:Wye, 480V to 480V isolation transformer. The transformer voltage ratio is 1:1, the secondary winding voltages are 277V
This is a winding ratio of 1:1/sqrt (3) or 1:(1/1.73)
I don't know where the last "2" in the equation comes from unless it refers to footnote #2. Hard to say without some context.
For a delta:delta or for a wye:wye transformer there will be no sqrt (3) term.
