Anyone Experienced With Autodesk Plant 3D?
(OP)
I've watched multiple Youtube videos on what Plant 3D is capable of and I am considering purchasing the package.
I do create P&ID's on a regular basis, and work on equipment layouts. I can see quite a bit of value which I could gain from it.
I've been slowly trying to learn the software by looking at the trial copy. From my limited experience with AutoCAD is there is a steep learning curve, but once you cross it, it can be a powerful utility.
Does anyone here have any experience working with the software? How useful is it? How difficult was the learning curve? I do realize ultimately you get out of it what you put into it. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

It's a very handy program when you have got the routine.
Knowledge of Autocad is a first issue of course.
(pmover: that thread is about SP3D, it's a world of difference)

I am currently using Plant 3D, it is a AutoCAD based software, I have used AutoCAD for years and Plant 3D seems to work really good.
I have used several huge programs for doing piping design work and never thought that Plant 3D could do what they do. I have been using Plant 3D for about 6 months and have had no formal training and most of the training from co-workers hasn't been all that helpful...I bought a book on Plant 3D thru Amazon that helps and I too have watched several videos on youtube...also a couple forums pertaining to Plant 3D have been helpful.
Autodesk community has a forum for Plant 3D.
