Suggestion for getting published

Suggestion for getting published

(OP)
At work we've more or less completed a paper on repairs we've done to an existing large wooden storage facility (~50 years old). I'm wondering what journals or publications might publish this, preferably Canadian. My first guess would be Canadian Institute of Mining (the project is on a mine site, and in this area of Canada there are a lot of similarly aged structures). The Canadian journal of structural engineering seems much more geared toward research, so I've ruled that out. Anyone have suggestions?

RE: Suggestion for getting published

Try the Canadian Wood Council and Wood Design and Building Magazine. It's a wood/timber structure and such groups would have more interest in your project than would a mining magazine.

RE: Suggestion for getting published

Screw Canada. Or at least publish abroad in addition to Canada. None of our engineering stuff has a broad enough readership. I think that Structuremag would be a good place to start. Large readership and low barriers to entry. I'll even spell check for you if you give me co-author credit.

I like to debate structural engineering theory -- a lot. If I challenge you on something, know that I'm doing so because I respect your opinion enough to either change it or adopt it.

We've already got plenty of co authors, everyone on the client side who has read the document wants to be co author. Not to mention the PM on it too. The glory is being spread real thin on this one.
