Risa-Revit Link

Risa-Revit Link

(OP)
I have been experiencing some challenges with the RISA-Revit link, where the analytical model exports from REVIT to RISA just fine, but the return trip, screws up the analytical nodes, so that some (but not all) of the analytical nodes no longer connect or become misaligned. I am still a bit inexperienced with using the link, but have made good headway in learning how to properly align the analytical model from the physical model prior to sending it over to RISA 3d. Any thoughts on this?

RE: Risa-Revit Link

I'm not personally very fluent in the use of Revit. I can hunt around and figure stuff out, but it takes me a lot longer than the younger engineers in the office who started their careers with Revit instead of AutoCAD.

That being said, there is something that has come up a few times recently. Apparently, the default merge tolerance in Revit is something like 12 inches. It's become enough of an issue that the new version (or forthcoming version) of the RISA-Revit link will automatically change the merge tolerance.

If that's not your issue and you're running the latest version of the link and of RISA, then you could upload your RISA, Revit and exchange files using the "support file uploader" page on website. Then someone from support can (hopefully) see and reproduce exactly what you're talking about.

Thanks again Josh. We are running the latest versions of the link, RISA and REVIT, so I'll take your suggestion and use the file uploader when I return to the office on Monday. Hopefully the Revit savvy dudes (or dudettes) will be able to figure this out.
