shift too add to selection

(OP)
In tools, and options, on the selection tab there is a option to tick if you like to use SHIFT to add to the selections. this means you can only select 1 object at a time unless you use shift. On my computer i do not tick this box as i prefer it, but every so often it will automatically change this option so i have to use shift. i have had to do this 3 times already today, can anybody HELP!

RE: shift too add to selection

Sounds like the PICKADD variable is getting changed. If you are running some programs, they may change the variable, but do not set it back. Your only option may be to reset it yourself or find the offending program and change it if possible.

RE: shift too add to selection

Hey,

It could be a lisp that you're running.

I've had this problems once with another variable, I think it was CMDDIA, which turns the print configuration dialog box off and on. So when evver i used a particular lisp, it would turn the dialog box off to function, and turn it back on when its done.
However if the programe crashes or has an error during the lisp (or the lisp crashes?), then the lisp would not be able to reset the system variable. Thus the problem!

So check your lisps.

Hope this helps
