Changing center of mass?

Changing center of mass?

Changing center of mass?

(OP)
How do you change the center of mass on a model part?

RE: Changing center of mass?

Now there is a way to 'assert' a user-defined location of the 'center of mass' of a part model, but except for that one approach, the 'center of mass' is a PHYSICAL PROPERTY of a body based on it's size, shape, and under certain circumstances, like when working with an Assembly, the specific density of the models. To put it more explicitly, it is what it is, period.

RE: Changing center of mass?

As John says, It's either dependent on the shape/volume and the density of the respective body. Or you can with the license Advanced Assemblies assert the COG , the mass etc.
Search the command finder for "weight management".

RE: Changing center of mass?

Or simply put, to change the center of mass, change the part.

To the Toolmaker, your nice little cartoon drawing of your glass looks cool, but your solid model sucks. Do you want me to fix it, or are you going to take all week to get it back to me so I can get some work done?

I would like to assert the location. Changing the model isn't an option.
