compressors r404 and r134a

(OP)
can a r404 compressor use r134a gas in running a high temp cooler. I have a r404 compressor and would like to swap out to a new r404 compressor. will the r404 compressor work with the r134a gas?

RE: compressors r404 and r134a

R 134a refrigerant is low efficiency compare to r404a refrigerant. You cannot attain the cooling load by using 134a instead of r404a.

RE: compressors r404 and r134a
