adding dimensions and description to isometric shot
adding dimensions and description to isometric shot
(OP)
Hey everyone,
I am in process of writing my masters thesis and I've encountered a problem. I've created geometry file for my cfx simulation and now I'd like to add a isometric picture with dimensions and description to my word file in similar fashion as in attached file 'schematic'.
schematic http://files.engineering.com/getfile.aspx?folder=f...
my geometry http://files.engineering.com/getfile.aspx?folder=8...
I have vague idea how to create such rendered picture with that kind of description in catia. Drafting doesn't really work for me.
I'd be grateful if anyone could help me.
Alexander

RE: adding dimensions and description to isometric shot
If you already have the 3D model, just create a drawing and click the isometric view. Then create your dimensions.
However, Student posting in Eng-Tips forums for help with theses or coursework is forbidden.

RE: adding dimensions and description to isometric shot
I don't see something wrong in asking how it can be done a task in a specific way. Is not good when software users don't try nothing....
Coming to original question, it can be done in different ways depending if you want to do it in 2D or 3D, and depending on what licenses you have.
In 3D you can apply material, do realistic rendering and use FTA license to put dimensions.
In 2D you can do what Drew already mentioned but use raster image (hope I remember well...).
