time dependent young's modulus

time dependent young's modulus

time dependent young's modulus

(OP)
Hello,

Hello I am doing a thermal analysis of concrete at early ages and I would like to introduce the elastic modulus versus time to take account of cement hydration.
First of all, I tried to use Field Variable to define dependence between Young's modulus and time
** E, v, temp, FV1
1.89e+10, 0.3, , 0
2.45e+10, 0.3, , 1
2.85e+10, 0.3, , 2
But I didn't know how to connect amplitude with field variables.

Thank you very much.

RE: time dependent young's modulus

Hello,

Reference between field variable and amplitude value is made via *FIELD keyword and *NSET which have all nodes attached to your material.

CODE

**
*MATERIAL, NAME=myMat
*ELASTIC, DEPENDENCIES=1, TYPE=ISOTROPIC
** E, v, temp, FV1
 1.89e+10, 0.3, , 1.89e+10
 2.45e+10, 0.3, , 2.45e+10
 2.85e+10, 0.3, , 2.85e+10
**
*NSET, NSET=mat-FV-NSET, ELSET=all_myMat_elements
**
*AMPLITUDE, NAME=MyMat_E, DEFINITION=TABULAR
** time, FV1/E
             0.0, 1.89e+10
            10.0, 2.45e+10
            20.0, 2.85e+10
**
*FIELD, VARIABLE=1, AMPLITUDE=MyMat_E
 mat-FV-NSET, 1.0
**

You can use FV 0, 1, 2 as in your example but I prefer use E value so I can think about amplitude y values as E.

Bartosz
