Eurocode vs IBC / ASCE

Eurocode vs IBC / ASCE

(OP)
Hello all,

I'm a french engineer and studied the Eurocode 8 years ago. Since I didn't practiced structural and load designs, I'm a little bit rusty!
But today, I'd like to compare load designs for a new home, which I have the results within the Eurocode, and I'd like to compare to the IBC / ASCE.
Right now, I'm really interested in the snow loads and wind loads.
For example, on the french calculation I have, it says that they took -905daN for the snow load on the more loaded point.
I'm trying to find out what does it means in term of psf snow loads. If I convert it, I fing 185psf, which, for this small house, looks crazy since it's in a place where their is almost no snow !

Could you please help me on this??

Thanks a lot !

Ron

RE: Eurocode vs IBC / ASCE

Are you using the local national annexes, specific those from EN1991??

Hello,
I'm using EN1995 (Eurocode 5, wood structures).
I have a load chart on 2 different structures calculated by a french engineer if you want to have a look, I can upload them.
Thanks a lot!
