How can I replace and old decoupling cap?

How can I replace and old decoupling cap?

How can I replace and old decoupling cap?

(OP)
I have an old Atari computer (1980) that has two 4700uF three lead electrolytic de-coupler caps on the power supply board. The computer has been in the attic for 35 years and these caps are bad. I've checked with several major parts supply companies (Mouser, Digikey) and they said good luck finding those caps!
The caps are: Nippon Chemi-com CE04W 4700uF 16v caps. Anyone have any idea?

Thanks for any help,
David

RE: How can I replace and old decoupling cap?

I'd probably put regular two-terminal caps in the spot, measure the noise, and if it's high enough, put a separate filter network before or after the cap.

I can't say I've ever seen a 3-term cap in person, but I know they exist. But at that high of a capacitance? Hmmm....

There's a fair possibility that one of the leads is a dummy provided for mechanical support. Phillips used to do this a lot on their larger board-mounting electrolytics.

E-bay seems to have a whole assortment of CE04W 4700uF 16v caps.

I want to thank everybody that offered a suggestion, but chiopee was correct. I had checked eBay once and totally missed them. Rockwell International has some that many have external defects but are still guaranteed for two years.

Once again thank you all,
David
