Lapeyre Staies submittal

Lapeyre Staies submittal

(OP)
Hello,

I got shop drawings subimttal for the Lapeyre stairs attached with the original specs as providing the stair manufacturers, specs, material.
The drawings it self is correct but they did not attach the manufacture, quantities, or any specs for the material the chose.
They mentioned in the section that it will be aluminum and powder coat as prime. For me I find that I should revise it until we got all info for the supplier and ALU specs.
My colleague said we are reviewing now the SD, later the contractor may send the other specs when the SD get approved.

Please advice,
If we approve it as the contractor said it will be aluminum that means he already knows and chose the material and supplier and may proceed on that and may not acceptable?
I am right or wrong?
Thanak you.

RE: Lapeyre Staies submittal

If it doesn't match the contract documents it's revise and resubmit until it does, or there is other contract documentation approving the change.

RE: Lapeyre Staies submittal

Option 1 - Tell the GC the submittal is incomplete and you are holding it until you get the rest of the submittal. Reference spec section ... items ... (note - there are probably items the spec require but nobody cares about. Feel free to let the GC know what specifics items you are looking for - I know, how dare I).

Option 2 - Revise and Resubmit the Shop drawing pending additional info - don't do this. You've already spent time looking at the drawing, why would you want to look at it again with a revised date?

Option 3 - Call the phone number on the shop drawing and ask the questions (that's why the number is there, right?). If you are satisfied, review the shop drawing Approved As Noted - Submit balance of Info for record or tell GC and person you called, in an email, what the hold up is and how it will be resolved.
