Abaqus Wheel and Rail interaction

Abaqus Wheel and Rail interaction

(OP)
Dear all

I have some problems when I model the wheel and rail.
I can do the wheel moving without rotation along the rail by giving the wheel velocity or displacement.
( The friction I apply is 0.3)
However when I try to make wheel rotate,
For example, I give the wheel U1 and free the UR3. It can only rotate a little bit and slide along the rail.
or
I give the wheel UR3 and free U1. The wheel can completely rotate but wheel will be larger and larger.

So how should I do if I want to make the wheel rotate without any problem.

RE: Abaqus Wheel and Rail interaction

Hello,

"...but wheel will be larger and larger."

Try a different button for animating your results. The "growing" models are an animation thing I think.

Br,

Or the analysis was linear. Then large rotations lead also to "growing" parts.
