Spherical partition in a cube possible in Abaqus CAE?

Spherical partition in a cube possible in Abaqus CAE?

(OP)
I have a model already that I used getByBoundingSphere to create a spherical set in the middle of an already meshed (with hex) cube but as you would expect the surface is very blocky & so would require a very high mesh density to achieve a near smooth boundary.

So I was wondering if it was possible to create a spherical partition within a cube & then mesh with a combination tets & hexs?

I've been looking at partitioning cells using sweep but it needs an edge along which it sweeps a profile whereas I'd like the sphere to be totally enclosed with in the cube which would require a semi-circle revolved around an axis.

I don't want to go down the axisymmetric route as I wont have evenly distributed loading on the outer cube.

You can create a ball as additional part, position the instance within the cube and the merge both with "retain boundaries".

Thanks but when I try to mesh it I keep getting a hollow sphere,

The mesher wont let be select any internal edges as far as I can work out. Tried to select regions using the cross-section view but it complains that the regions arent't suitable for the element choice (which is tet), so I'm struggling to understand whats happening here.
