Plugged head opening

Plugged head opening

Plugged head opening

(OP)
Hi,

I have 3/8" opening on a head (the head is ASME B16.9, sch 80 cap welded to a nozzle - 6" pipe sch80).
The 3/8" opening (drilled through whole thickness of the head) is located in the center of the head and is used for venting.
The opening is closed with hex plug made acc to ASME B16.11.

Where in ASME VIII-1 I can find any reference for this?
Would UG 43(g) be applicable?

Thanks

RE: Plugged head opening

UG 43 g is for stud threads, UG43e is for threaded connections. Find the minimum thickness of your cap at the thread location and confirm minimum thread engagement.
