Solidworks movable mates.

Solidworks movable mates.

Hi. I have a question about a mate in an assembly.

I have a bolt cutter that I want to be movable as you can see in pic 1jpg. I want to be able to pull on one handle to open the jaws. How do I do that?
How do I prevent what has happen in pic broken.jpg?

RE: Solidworks movable mates.

Take a look at limit mates to control how far you can move the handles. That should, at least, help to lessen the frequency of the handles flipping like that.

RE: Solidworks movable mates.

I think a max/min angle mate will work, but I suspect there must be a logical stop point on the handles too.
