NX measure bodies failure

NX measure bodies failure

NX measure bodies failure

(OP)
I am working in NX9, and I have a solid body part that I am trying to measure for mass/weight. I have assigned a material to my body, yet when I perform the "Measure Body" command I receive an Alert box that states "Some of the selected entities are invalid for mass properties". All of the values for mass, volume ..etc in the dialog box that pops up are zero. I have tried part clean up, and the part is a solid body, with material. Any ideas what the issue or resolution might be?

Thank you

RE: NX measure bodies failure

Run the examine geometry command on the bodies. Turn on all the body and face checks then window around the body(ies) to select everything. My guess is, it will report a body consistency error or face self intersection. You'll need to repair these errors before the measure body command will work correctly.

Yes, that showed me the area to fix. Thanks
