Stuck in Drafting

Stuck in Drafting

Stuck in Drafting

(OP)
For some reason when I got back to my drawing, the dimension I'll define makes no sense. See att. Here, I put a dimension in a place I've already done so. The original measurement was 21 inches, and now the same length is defined as 8.4. I used the same points, and haven't messed with any of the units settings. I dont see the link between 21 and 8.4 so I don't see it as a conversion issue. I can't move forward until I figure this out. Thanks!

RE: Stuck in Drafting

Did you (or someone) manually override one of the dimensions?

RE: Stuck in Drafting

If you're asking whether or not I went into that specific dimensions settings, than no. It happens when I create new dimensions as well. It's like the scale is off or something. Let's say I take a width in drafting, that same width on the model in modelling is a differnt number when I use the measure tool.

RE: Stuck in Drafting

Is there a chance that the view scale is 2.5/1?
if any geometry has been created on the drawing on top of the view and the scale of the view is not 1/1 it can cause some headaches.
the reason I ask is that 8.4 X 2.5 = 21.0
Have had this happen occasionally in the past 31 years of UG experience with inexperienced operators.
see my attachment. Hope this helps fix the problem or at least you will be aware if you get similar results sometime and this can be a possible solution.

You're right, 64 There is a sketch over the model. You're picture makes sense, but now I wonder...how do you change the scale of that line's view. or even check it? Thanks

RE: Stuck in Drafting

In drafting, right click the boundary of the view in question, select settings, general and scale and change the scale and see if that helps.
another possibility is if reference sets are used change reference sets so the sketch does not show or move the sketch to another layer and make that layer invisible in the view. Hard to say exactly what to do without seeing the actual file to view the sketch. glad I was able to help somewhat. let me know your solution if you would.
