Trouble subtracting bodies in NX

Trouble subtracting bodies in NX

Trouble subtracting bodies in NX

(OP)
I am trying to subtract a body from another body in NX but when I do I get an Alert saying "the tool and target do not form a complete intersection". The tool does stand outside of the target slightly but that is what the model is supposed to do. Is there a way to make this happen?

RE: Trouble subtracting bodies in NX

Start the "examine geometry" command. Turn on all the body and face checks then window select around both bodies (tool and target) and click on "examine geometry". If it reports any body consistency or face self-intersection errors, these should be fixed in the model. When they are fixed, the subtract should work as expected.
