Changing Part color in an Assembly, Save to Part

Changing Part color in an Assembly, Save to Part

Changing Part color in an Assembly, Save to Part

(OP)
Hi, is there anyway to save color changes applied to a part in an assembly to the part itself? The scenario this would be helpful is when I have a similar intricate part in an assembly and I want to selectively inherit all the various face colors by being able to pick on the other part faces one by one. I can't do that obviously when the part is 'Made Display Part'. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

RE: Changing Part color in an Assembly, Save to Part

use the command:
OBJECT DISPLAY
change filter selection face, body ecc..(don't select assembly)

Thanks for the reply @studiotreccani. Sorry, I wasn't totally clear in my question. I know how to apply colors to faces/features, what I am trying to figure out is: Is there a way to save the color changes I make in an assembly to the part itself. NX is configured so that when you make a color change to an individual part in an assembly, it only saves to that assembly instance. I want to know if that color instance can then be saved to the part itself. Any ideas?
Thanks!

Yes there is , in later versions on NX.(I think from NX7.5 and later) In the bottom of the "edit object display "dialog there is an option Settings - "Apply to owning part", which will do exactly what you ask for.
But, you need not have selected the "component" to start with, you must select "solid body" or Face etc , else this option will be grey.

Tomas

If you open the image that studiotreccani posted, it shows the option mentioned by Toost.
